This class is a social constructivist environment that is dependent on your engagement for the learning to occur. In this class, you will learn by doing. While I will provide resources to start us out each week, and while I will pose challenges and support you in achieving those challenges, I will also leave a great deal of space within both the resources and the challenges for your own learning preferences and philosophies to operate.
The best way to be successful in this class is to set a schedule, view our class calendar each week and read the announcements I will post. Due dates could change throughout our course. You must participate in the class each week by Tuesday. Monday is the day to review the assignment and requirements for the week. During the week you must post to the class on at least three DAYS (e.g. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) to receive full participation points. You will then create a journal at the end of the week, usually on Friday.
Your journal will explain how the week went, what was your takeaway, and if you have any questions that need to be addressed. During two weeks of the class you have individual assignments due. When you have individual assignments due, be sure to build them into your week!
It's important to not go ahead with our class and complete all the assignments at once. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS. If you choose to post your blog response early to our blackboard site, you may. However, you will need to participate on the correct week with your colleagues to receive full participation points.
