This is an explanation of how your Diigo Bookmarks will be evaluated. I will check your Diigo Outlines during each assignment. You will copy and paste the shareable link into your journals to share with me. You will continue to add to your Diigo Outlines for each assignment. At the end of our course you will turn in your final Diigo Outline. The final Diigo Outline will include all of the resources you found for all of the assignments during our course.
Assignment One
Welcome to the first full week of our course! This week you will begin to gain tools you will need to be successful as the course continues. You will engage in searching Egan Library Databases for articles, you will download and use a tool that will assist you in organizing and tracking the resources you find, and you will explore the Edutopia Web Site in an attempt to answer the question: Why should we integrate technology into the classroom?
Just to be clear - there isn’t one simple answer to that question. Every person could have (and likely should have) a different response. Your response will depend on your discipline, on your background, and on your level of expertise in technology. Regardless of your orientation, I’d like for you to come up with your answer to this question, and support your answer with any articles that you can find.
Explore the Edutopia site well. Compose your initial posting, and be sure that it is posted before Tuesday at midnight. You will post your initial posting in the Discussion One Blog.
When we use blogs during the week, your participation is graded with the Participation Checklist:
Participation Checklist
2.0 Points - Candidate makes posts to the class three days during each week
1.5 Points - Candidate posts to Reading Group by Tuesday at midnight, so that the group may respond and interact in a timely manner
1.5 Points - Candidate’s posts accurately reflect reading and/or video materials
2.5 Points - Candidate builds on the responses of classmates in the Reading Group discussion (adding new resources and promoting conversation)
2.5 Points - The first posting of the week is between 350 and 550 words in length.
