Assignment
This week, you will either create your own Voicethread or work with your group to plan and create a VoiceThread presentation. This will be a busy week, so plan accordingly!
Individuals and groups first task will be to choose a topic from the following trends in education:
Choose your topic by Monday or Tuesday. Post your topic in the Voicethread Assignment Spreadsheet. You can use Elluminate or you might even want to use a Doodle poll to quickly find out what your group would prefer (http://www.doodle.com/). Your group can also have a Zoom meeting: https://zoom.us/ and do a poll to choose the topic.
Once your topic is chosen, you will begin to plan the presentation. The planning process should focus on the following:
1. What are the main concepts your team or you want to share about the topic?
2. How many slides will the presentation consist of (I recommend no more than ten for a group and one to two for individual).
3. Who will be the primary architect of the VT group project (collaboration is only available in the paid version, so one team member will be required to upload images, etc. for the slides, prior to others commenting/presenting).
4. What images, videos or text will appear on each slide? (Please include an introduction slide with your name or the group members and the topic you are presenting).
5. How will the group presentation be divvied out (who will present which information?)
Your team is encouraged to set a schedule. For instance, you might choose to research articles on Monday and Tuesday, and then be online Wednesday and Thursday to create the plan for the VoiceThread together. Again - you are welcome to use Elluminate or Zoom for this task. Post the link to your Voicethread Presentation in the Voicethread Assignment Spreadsheet on Friday, March 19th.
The VT Rubric focuses on creating critical thinking opportunities, and inviting contribution from others as you present the VT. Therefore, this should be an interactive presentation which goes beyond simply "telling" information about VT. This presentation should invite those who view it to think critically, and to add their own comments in response to prompts that you or your group provides. You will note that the highest level of the rubric indicates that others actually do respond to the prompts provided.
Individuals and groups first task will be to choose a topic from the following trends in education:
- iPad and Tablet Apps, Google, Bitmoji Apps and Extensions
- The Flipped Classroom
- Podcasts
- Social Spaces for Teachers
- Adaptive Technologies (for iPad or Computer)
- MOOCs in Education
- Online Teaching and Learning
- Other Topic: Student or Group Choice

Putting it all together
Your primary group architect should insure that the images and slides are set up, and should invite the rest of your group to participate. Individual members of the group will contribute their parts of the presentation through commenting on the presentation set up by the primary architect.
Once all members of your group have contributed to your VT, share the presentation with the class using the VT Assignment Spreadsheet. It is preferable to make your VT public, and to post the link so that others may simply click the link and log in to view your presentation, and to participate with you in your presentation.
Finally, over the rest of the class, you will view the VT presentations created from you or the groups. Please participate in these VT presentations as you feel is appropriate.
