Safe and Ethical Use of Technology
Our topic this week is a big one! Safe and ethical use of technology encompasses many topics including internet safety, equitable use of technology, copyright issues online, accommodations for those who have different needs, and insuring that students are not denied access to technology. Because of the differing interests of the class, several different resources have been provided and you are welcome to choose from them. In your initial blog post, respond to one of the following questions:
After creating your initial response, be certain to interact with your colleagues by responding to their postings, adding resources and extending the conversation for three days during the week.
- Is it a good idea to allow students to interact with others online, create a class web page or create a blog? Why or why not?
- How will I know whether equitable access is a problem in my classroom?
- What hidden factors could interfere with my students' development of technology skills?
- Do I have the choice of whether or not to integrate technology in my classroom?
After creating your initial response, be certain to interact with your colleagues by responding to their postings, adding resources and extending the conversation for three days during the week.
