Tasks Due

Create a Web Page using Weebly | Weebly.Com | Post the link to your Web Page to the Discussion Blog Ten View Course Calendar for Due Dates. |
Post your reflection and synthesis of creating a webpage. In the Start of Webpage Journal explain how the beginning process went. What are some of the pros and cons you have. In your Final Webpage Journal, explain your experience finalizing your webpage and throughout this assignment. What did you learn, feel comfortable with, take away, and have questions or concerns with still. | Journal - Start of Webpage and Final Webpage | View Course Calendar for Due Dates. |
Resources
I have created youtube videos which assist with using Weebly to create a web page. For your own web page, you will decide the names of the pages that link off of the primary page. Those names are not pre-determined. In addition, you will decide how many pages link off the primary page. And you will decide the content that goes on that page. The content isn't pre-determined. This page is for you to showcase your learning - your opinions and your take-aways from our class.
Your Diigo Link should be of great assistance in this task.
You might enjoy viewing these Webpages from previous classes.

Optional: Video Introduction/Videocasts
You are not required to use a videocast or introduction in your web page; however, I did want to share this tutorial with you in the case that you would like to include video or in the case that you are interested in a flipped classroom in the future. This tutorial uses YouTube and ScreenCastoMatic (both free tools) to create and share VideoCasts on Weebly. We do use this a great deal in the Master's program for presentation purposes (which will explain some of the language in the video) - and I use it in some courses to provide audio feedback uploaded to Dropbox.
Assignment
This week, you are creating a web page to showcase your primary take-aways from this class. This does not have to be a summary of everything we did in the class, and in fact - it would be quite boring if you took that approach to it! It should be, rather, a web page which allows you to share those artifacts you created in the class that you might be proud of (VoiceThread, Concept Maps, Wiki Pages) and to summarize your philosophy of technology in education as well as your links to web sites, videos or other resources which might be helpful to other teachers.
This project is wide open. It can consist of as much or as little information as you would like. I would suggest (at the very least) the following organization for the page:
Main page: Introduction and philosophy of educational technology use in the classroom
Artifacts: Links to artifacts or images that you enjoyed in the class, and explanations of why you believe these are important or why they were important to you
Resources: Links to your Diigo lists, and also selected resources that you have found particularly helpful in the class
Blog: A place at which people may interact with you about your site - this is VERY IMPORTANT. Without a Blog, others will not be able to comment on your site - and we will be doing this next week. Also -be certain your blog has at least one posting, because without that posting, again, there is no place for others to comment.
Now - if you have a broader vision of this web page, please take it broader. I would enjoy this page being a site that you could build on and use as you continue in your educational journey. If you have created artifacts in other classes that you believe are relevant to your insights in this class, please do add them. Ideally, you will have a living portfolio of your accomplishments in your undergraduate program which may be shared with principals and other potential employers, as well as with other teachers.
In addition, create your journal entry. Be certain to include the link to your Diigo list in this journal entry.
The web site will be evaluated with the following rubric:

This rubric focuses on the quality of content and organization of content, the readability of the site, creating an accessible site regardless of bandwidth and internet speed, and insuring ethical use of any borrowed materials. I do emphasize some of these issues in the videos provided.
